Chris Broussard: Tom Brady Can No Longer Carry 'Average Joes'

Chris Broussard: “The one prevailing thought that hit my mind throughout that Packers game was – and I like Tom Brady and defend him all the time – but the prevailing thought that ran through my mind during that game was ‘this should be Tom Brady’s last year.’ Not that Tom Brady is falling off, not that Tom Brady is no good anymore, not that Tampa Bay can’t win it – and there’s a cavalry coming for Tampa Bay with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Julio Jones… I’m not saying that Tom Brady is looking like Peyton Manning at the end of his career, I’m just saying he can no longer carry guys who are just ‘guys’. I will go to my grave thinking Wes Welker was ‘just a guy’, and Julian Edelman was ‘just a guy’, but Brady made them great. He can no longer turn guys like that into great players. He’s only going to do so much with Scotty Miller, and Breshad Perriman, and these guys. Even if they win the Super Bowl, I don’t think they will, but even if they win the Super Bowl I think Brady should go out on top in that case. Don’t let people see you looking like Peyton Manning looked his last year.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Chris Broussard explain why he thinks this version of Tom Brady can no longer carry ‘average Joes’ like he did with the Patriots, as Brady has thrown only one touchdown pass in three games with a decimated Bucs receiving corps that just played without Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones.

Check out the segment above as Chris details why he thinks Brady needs to retire after this season and save himself the embarrassment of a 2015 Peyton Manning-type season where he’s too broken down to even impact the game anymore.
