Volusia County, FL - A Daytona Beach man with a “come back with a warrant” doormat was arrested after detectives obtained a warrant tied to an alleged multi-property mortgage fraud scheme.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Christopher Michael Musick was arrested on charges including an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft over $100000 and multiple counts related to falsified documents.
Detectives allege Musick created fraudulent paperwork to make it appear he owned several commercial properties.

Using those documents, he allegedly secured mortgages on the properties and then used the loan funds to buy additional real estate.
Investigators say the newly purchased properties were rented out, with Musick allegedly collecting rental income while failing to pay back the loans tied to the properties he claimed to own.
The sheriff’s office reported that detectives from the Financial Crimes Unit interviewed Musick at his home as part of the investigation.
At the residence, deputies noted a doormat that read “Come back with a warrant.”
After developing probable cause, investigators executed a search warrant at the home.
According to the sheriff’s office, Musick has 10 prior felony convictions along with two outstanding warrants from Maryland.
He was booked into the Volusia County Jail, and his bond was set at $225000.
Officials said the case remains active as investigators examine the financial records connected to the alleged scheme.
They noted that additional charges may be filed if further fraudulent activity or additional victims are identified during the ongoing review of documents and property records.
