Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was suspended for the first three games of the 2025 regular season by the NFL on Tuesday (August 5), ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Addison, 23, will be prohibited from the Vikings road opener against the Chicago Bears, home opener against the Atlanta Falcons and Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"Discipline: NFL suspended Vikings WR Jordan Addison for the first three games of the 2025 regular season for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy. Addison now will miss games at Chicago, vs. the Falcons and vs. the Bengals," Schefter wrote on his X account. "Jordan Addison will be permitted to participate in all training camp activities, including preseason games without restriction."

Addison pleaded pleaded to a lesser, "wet reckless" vehicular offense in relation to his DUI case last month, but was subjected to possible discipline by the NFL and expected to face a baseline three-game suspension. The former USC standout was arrested weeks prior to last year's training camp session when he was found "asleep behind the wheel" of a vehicle blocking a freeway near Los Angeles International Airport.

Addison had previously arrested for a driving-related incident prior to the beginning of his rookie season. The Maryland native was cited for driving 140 MPH on a Minnesota freeway in July 2023 and agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge, paying $686 in fines, while a charge of reckless driving was dismissed.

Addison was selected by the Vikings at No. 23 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft and had a breakout rookie season, recording 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, as well as 63 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns while playing through injuries in 2024.
