Rob Parker: Mahomes is Nothing But a Company Man in Kansas City

In the wake of Davante Adams and Amari Cooper being traded to the Jets and Bills respectively, Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington discuss why Kansas City wasn't in on trade talks for either receiver. While Rob thinks it's absurd for Kansas City not to be doing everything they can to surround Patrick Mahomes with talent after the Rashee Rice injury, his bigger issue is that Mahomes himself doesn't seem to care.

Rob Parker: "Here's my criticism of Patrick Mahomes off the field... He could've forced the Chiefs to sign him to a fully-guaranteed contract. The chiefs were in no position to balk. He'd just won a Super Bowl and an MVP by [such a young age]... But he took a home team discount! They promised him the moon, that they'd be able to hold on to all of his players, [and they didn't]. Now he's in a position where he should be able to dictate some of the stuff that Chiefs are doing. You're down three receivers, can you go get us a receiver? We just saw two really good receivers get traded, and we're not in the conversation for any of those?... This is for your legacy, why are they being cheap with him? He should care a lot more than he [seems to]."
Kelvin Washington: "Andy Reid and that organization have had success in a multitude of ways. They've had success with all their stars, but they've also had success without them... So I think there's a part of Patrick Mahomes that says... 'we can win no matter who's here.' I think he believes in his own skill set so much, and in Andy Reid so much, that he's saying no matter who's there, they can win."
