Lauderhill, FL - Authorities are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a 13-year-old girl in Lauderhill last month.
Police say the incident that was captured on surveillance video.
According to authorities, the attempted abduction occurred around 5:30 p.m. on October 7 near the 5000 block of Northwest 18th Court.
Lauderhill Police say the suspect approached the girl from behind, grabbed her right ankle, and caused her to fall to the ground.
The girl managed to escape unharmed by yelling and fighting off the attacker, who fled the scene on foot.
On Wednesday, police released surveillance footage of the incident and a description of the suspect, identified as a thin, light-skinned Black male with a short haircut.
He was wearing a yellow shirt and red shorts at the time of the attack.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
